History - In 1980, the Philadelphia school
system was using our building for a pre-school, but needed to move
in to a larger facility. Our church felt there was still a need
for a nursery school in the neighborhood, and so our own program
was born. The Nursery School is directly affiliated with the church,
and reports at committee meetings on a monthly basis. The program
is completely non-profit; all taxes including Social Security and
Medicare are paid by the school. Our school serves an average of
forty children each year, ages three and four. The three-year old
class meets on Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:00 - 11:30 am. The four-year
old class meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, also from 9:00
- 11:30 am.
Cost- The cost to parents is very modest - an
annual registration fee of $35 is charged; tuition is $75 per month
for three-year olds, and $85 per month for four-year olds.
Program -Our Nursery School is dedicated
to providing a positive experience for our students. We work to
help students develop a self-image outside the family unit and feel
good about who they are; explore and discover the world around them
and appreciate the wonder of God's creation; develop increased language
skills; and cooperate with other children and adults in a warm and
comfortable group setting.
Staff- We currently employ a qualified lead
teacher and two teaching assistants. Two parents are present daily
on a rotating basis, making a total of five adults present at all
times.
Registration Information - Registration
forms are available in February for the following school year. Visitations
are encouraged before applying. Please call the church office at
215-745-2844 for more information.
